AI-Based automated HR call system
An automated HR phone call system based on Dialogflow enables a robotic assistant to conduct initial candidate conversations: verify experience, answer job-related questions, and schedule interviews directly—without recruiter involvement.
Tasks
- Design an HR bot conversation script (greeting, experience questions, FAQ responses, interview invitation).
- Implement the bot in Dialogflow with support for branching, clarifications, and fallback responses.
- Integrate the Dialogflow platform with cloud telephony and corporate calendar.
- Configure result logging in ATS and notifications for recruiters.
- Train the model on typical candidate questions and regularly update the response database.
About the Project
With the increasing number of applications, the HR department needed a solution to quickly conduct initial candidate screenings. The solution was a scripted bot in Dialogflow that mimics a friendly recruiter: it calls candidates, asks clarifying questions, and logs results in the ATS.
The project covers the full integration cycle: from dialogue design and NLP logic to connectivity with telephony and the HR team’s calendar.

Challenges and Solutions
- Natural Speech
- To make the bot’s voice sound natural, we conducted A/B testing of four TTS engines and selected the model with optimal intonation and pauses.
- Handling Non-Standard Responses
- Candidates often describe their experience in non-standard ways. We used contextual intents in Dialogflow and custom ML post-processing functions for clarifications and question rephrasing.
- Support for Job-Specific FAQs
- A dedicated knowledge base was created, editable by recruiters via a simple UI: new questions are immediately available to the bot without a restart.
